Features of CPG

Controlled Pore Glass (CPG) is the gold standard for solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, with features such as high surface area, tightly controlled pore size and chemical inertness. A variety of CPGs for oligonucleotide synthesis are available and
can be purchased for standard synthesis sizes or for long-mer synthesis.

* 3'-Amino-CPG is used to place a 3'-amine end into oligonucloetides.
It can be used to bind with other target materials with a NHS-ester moiety.

* 3′-TAMRA-CPG is a fluorescent compound with λ excitation and λ emission of 565 nm and 580 nm, respectively, which has been shown to be a useful quencher for dual-labeled oligo probes because of its spectral overlap with other fluorophores.

* 3'-Dabcyl-CPG is used to prepare probes with the quencher blocking the 3'-terminus.

* The 3'-C3-disulfide CPG is used to introduce 3'-thiol linkages with three and six atom spacers into oligonucleotides. This CPG is used to introduce a dithiol group at the 3'-terminus.

* 3’-Fluorescein CPG is used to label fluorescein at the 3’ end of oligonucleotides.
